Former Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo on Sunday declared his decision to work with Deputy President William Ruto-led ahead of the upcoming August 2022 elections.
During the Kenya Kwanza rally which was held Thika stadium, Kabogo said the decision to join UDA was made after intensive consultations between him and the people of Kiambu.
"I am not here to joy ride. I am here because this the place that I need to be. I have talked with the women in the market, the youth in their jobs, and the men in their homes, and even with my own family and all of them have told me that from here, UDA is the party," Wamatangi said.
"As a true son of the mountain, I have taken time to listen to the people of the mountain, and the great people of Kiambu who I love so much and the decision is now made.
As a selfless leader whose sole intention is to ensure that the people who look up to me are well represented and that their aspirations are well catered for, I have made the decision to join other like minded leaders in the Kenya Kwanza coalition." Kabogo said
William Kabogo is on the race for the Kiambu County gubernatorial seat.
Kabogo was officially welcomed to UDA by Ruto and is expected to fight for the party ticket with Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, Thika Town MP Wainaina Jungle and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
